about

The Keepers album written, performed and produced by Church Rowe and Mego Rene of The Wanderer's Drift. This is our first collection of songs put together in our studio. A handful of songs that may give light to our unpredictable musical inclinations. The album starts off with the track titled '17'. A protest song of sorts. A prophetic ranting, possibly. Loud and charged, definitely. Tracks like 'Marathon Man' and 'Pygmalion Effects' explore alt-pop, psychedelic sympathies of living life out of expectations rather than our own desires. 'Skewed', a crunchy, gritty swallow of realism and a little something extra off the cutting room floor. We are always looking at ways of bettering our art. Let us know what you think. Enjoy!

about

The Wanderer's Drift Abbeville, Louisiana

There's two of us. We organize sounds and display them as the backdrop to (we've been told) solitary and imaginative experience(s). We setup these 'sound collection sticks' and the box of turn-y things, the sticks are connected to, seem to mimic us somehow. The tribes outside told us to 'upload' them to the sky or clouds or webs or whatever. So here it goes....

Track Name: 17
This war is unaccounted for
Can't stop anymore
Between the innocents and manipulants
Subjugated by impotence
Track Name: Marathon Man
I fled a scene of remembrance (x3)
I fled a scene of what we're waiting for
I fled a scene of admittance
I fled a sea of forgiveness
I fled a scene of remembrance
I fled a scene of what we're lying for

You don't have to be the one we're all waiting for
I know someone they can call their own
holidays paid away

Across the universe directed off course
never to return isn't that what you asked for
I built a hideaway along a sandy sway
in the middle, the mental, of a vacation stay
Track Name: Skewed
I look around
I take it in
This world that surrounds me
Skewed by light's gravitational bend.

Some things I know
Still many, many,many things I don't
Some things will remain mysteries
'Til long, long, long after we're gone

I look around
I take 'em in
The people that surround me
Skewed by all the things in which they believe
Track Name: Pygmalion Effects
Where did the time go
I don't have to wait
why are all the answers
so far away

when did it get home
this man that I create
so many days late
to a show already played

how did you get out
the cage that I made
all the other animals
haven't aged a day

why wouldn't you listen
now I have to stay
to wrestle you thoroughly
only one can remain
only one can remain

I had high hopes of dismantling you
dreams so real disbelieving you
truth has known better company
who'd have known apart from you and me

I'd have to listen to all the pressures that be
reverberating in and out of me
and you, too soon, I fight, I fall
I crawl, I see it all.
I see it all
